Verifying an Official at a Checkpoint

Configure a Checkpoint

  1. Ensure that the checkpoint has been created from the administrator dashboard under Checkpoints on the left menu.
  2. Open the SurePass mobile app and click the Menu icon in the top left of the screen.
  3. Click Configure Checkpoint to register and use your mobile device to verifier officials entering with SurePass.
  4. Choose Edit from the current Location and Checkpoint displayed.
  5. Choose the location that you are attempting to verify officials at.
  6. Choose the single checkpoint that you are verifying officials at.
  7. Once complete, you can click the Menu icon in the top left to and view and confirm the Current Location and Current Checkpoint that is associated with your mobile device.

Scan with a Card Reader

  1. Ensure that the SurePass NFC reader at your checkpoint is plugged in and powered on.
  2. From the SurePass Mobile app, confirm that your Current Location and Current Checkpoint match where you are currently located. If this does not match, please follow the steps for Configuring a Checkpoint.
  3. Click the Scan with Card Reader option.
  4. Initially, you should see the Card Reader is Disconnected. You will need to connect to the Card Reader via Bluetooth by clicking on the Bluetooth Devices tab.
  5. If you do not see the SurePass Card Reader listed, please click the Find New SurePass Devices
  6. Click on the appropriate Sure Pass Card Reader device from the available devices on the list.
  7. You can now present an NFC card or OCID mobile pass to the card reader to begin verification.

Scan with a Mobile Device

  1. Please note, you can only use this option if scanning an NFC Card or SureTag. SurePass currently does not support scanning Mobile OCIDs with another mobile device.
  2. From the SurePass Mobile app, confirm that your Current Location and Current Checkpoint match where you are currently located. If this does not match, please coordinate with your SurePass administrator to update the checkpoint configuration.
  3. Click the Scan with Mobile Device option.
  4. You can now present an NFC card or NFC sticker to the mobile device to begin verificatio

Searching for Official by Email

  1. In the case that an official does not have their NFC card or OCID mobile pass available, you can still search for them by their verified email address and compare their picture/information with the official present at your checkpoint.
  2. From the mobile app, click the menu icon in the top left corner.
  3. Click the Find by Email option under Verification
  4. Enter the officials email address that is associated with their SurePass account
  5. If they are correctly registered, their OCID will appear on your mobile device to check
  6. If they are not verified, you will see the notification of Official Not Found
  7. You can also follow the steps for Scan with Mobile Device and click Find by Email to complete the verification flow.
