Selecting Roles in SurePass
As an Owner or Admin, you have the ability to adjust the roles assigned to your staff within the SurePass system. Below is a breakdown of the different roles available:
Owner
This is the highest level of permissions. As an Owner, you can:
- Manage all details of your users
- Manage locations
- Manage checkpoints
- View access/clearance logs
- Manage all agency information
We recommend limiting the number of users assigned the Owner role.
Admin
This has slightly fewer permissions as the Owner role. As an Admin, you will not have the ability to edit all agency information. However, Admins can:
- Manage users
- Manage locations
- Manage checkpoints
- View access/clearance logs
Verifier
This role is designed for officials who will also be conducting verifications at your SurePass checkpoints. When logging into the mobile app, the Verifier will be able to:
- Configure checkpoints
- Scan officials by card reader
- Scan officials by mobile device
- View their own OCID
This role should be assigned to any official who may be responsible for administering fixed and non-fixed checkpoints. Please note, Verifiers will NOT have access to the SurePass Admin Dashboard.
Official
This is the most common user permission. As an Official, you can:
- Log into the mobile app
- View your OCID from the mobile app
- Add your OCID to your mobile wallet pass
Officials are not able to conduct verifications at SurePass checkpoints and are not able to access the SurePass Admin Dashboard.
Contract Security
The most limited user permission. Contract Security members are not issued an OCID and therefore cannot access SurePass checkpoints on their own. As a Contract Security, you can:
- Conduct the same functionality as a Verifier
- Enter your PIN when conducting verifications
Contract Security is typically reserved for security personnel who conduct security screenings and verifications.
