Checkout an Official at a Checkpoint
Once an official has been verified and admitted through a SurePass checkpoint, SurePass also ensures that this same official can easily checkout through the same checkpoint using their OCID. This process also ensures that a secure, digital record is automatically created to allow an agency to see exactly when and where an official checked in and out. This functionality reduces the need to rely on antiquated and insecure paper logs to track entry and exit at secure locations.
Checkout Flow
- Once an official has been verified and admitted through a SurePass checkpoint, their entry is logged in a secure, digital record.
- When that official is leaving the secure location, they will exit from the same checkpoint and scan their OCID at the reader they used to check in. This will capture them checking out and log when they exited and what checkpoint/location they left from.
Other Checkout Scenarios
The SurePass checkout functionality also includes coverage for other scenarios that can occur at secure checkpoints.
Location-Based Checkout
In the event that an official leaves a location without checking out and checks in at another SurePass checkpoint, they will be automatically checked out from the first checkpoint.
This ensures they are able to check in at the new location while also creating a record of when their automatic checkout was logged.
Daily Reset Checkout
In the event that an official leaves a location without checking out, they will be automatically checked out at 03:00 hours local time to ensure they are able to check in the following day. This process logs the Automatic Checkout in the Clearance Logs to better identify which officials are not checking out on their own.
